Jackie Barefield

Jackie is an HR professional with over 20 years’ experience of creating and enhancing People Capability Development functions, to help global business leaders meet their strategic objectives and gain competitive advantage.

She defines future-focused strategies to build capability where it’s needed, via impactful programmes, events, and experiences. She uses her expertise in Technology, Marketing and Change Management to provoke learning audience adoption, and applies advanced digital and data skills to ensure progress towards business impact is properly identified at the outset, then effectively tracked and measured. She’s passionate about building capability through digital transformation, developing healthy learning cultures, and applying the science of behavioural change. She always aims to bring a real sense of inclusivity, elevating people and businesses to be the best they can be, stepping into their own.

Jackie has reimagined people capability development in many industries, including Media & Advertising, AdTech, FMCG, Banking, and Technology; holding senior learning positions at organisations such as Unilever, GroupM and Barclays. She’s a regular speaker at international conferences and an enthusiastic participant of many a panel and expert forum. She’s a proud Fellow of the LPI, is qualified at the advanced Level (7) as a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, and holds certifications in many other disciplines, including Marketing Management and Coaching and Mentoring.

In 2021, Jackie joined the Phillip Morris International (PMI) Global Studio to re-develop their Finance Academy and engage their Global Community with a new capability framework. A year later she took on her current role of Head of Capability Development for PMI’s Global Operations, covering more than 20,000 employees worldwide across a variety of functions including manufacturing, supply chain and procurement, among others.
