Stephan Thoma was Global Director of Learning & Development for Google from 2006 to 2014, where his focus was on ensuring the learning agenda supported Google scale for the future whilst retaining and building its innovative and distinct culture. In this role, Stephan’s was the only non-US based member of the function’s Leadership team. After nearly eight years at Google, Stephan’s passionate about supporting European Business’s scale and compete on a global scale, and major Companies refresh and renew through progressive People, Learning and Talent growth strategies. He now operates selectively as an advisor and coach to such people and businesses. Originally an Engineer, he previously held senior learning and talent development roles at NTL/Telewest, Cisco Systems and GE amongst others. He is also now a Visiting Professor at the Centre for the Digital Economy, University of Surrey.
